May Favorites
All of these favorites I discovered at the end of the month when I was shadowing a cardiologist at New York Presbyterian Hospital and are really great products that last almost all day.
John Frieda Frizz-Ease Heat Defeat Protective Styling Spray: Every day before I would leave for this shadowing gig, I would have to blow dry my hair otherwise it would either dry weird or still be sopping wet when I got to the hospital. And usually when I blow dry my hair, it gets a little puffy and frizzy, even when I use a round brush. But let me tell you, this is the first heat protective spray I’ve used that actually provides a difference when I blow dry my hair. It made my hair incredibly smooth and very easy to manage and style. Definitely highly recommend this stuff.
Revlon Colorstay Foundation for Oily/Combination Skin in Golden Tan: I’m pretty sure this might’ve been in a favorites before but this just re-proved itself to me this month for staying power and coverage. This stuff lasted me all freaking day long and has fantastic coverage. Easily a favorite foundation of mine, I always fall back to it when I need a good foundation with lots of coverage.
Maybelline Fit Me Concealer in shade 20: I was recommended this concealer by a friend when I started to run out of my Revlon Colorstay stick concealer and while it took a little bit to remember how to actually use a liquid concealer (a little pathetic I know), once I got the hang of it, this stuff is great. I have as of yet to find a holy grail concealer, but this is pretty good stuff. It has good staying power (though not great if you’re using it without a foundation or primer underneath), and great coverage. What I especially like about it is that I can use it both on blemishes and underneath my eyes to brighten up and cover up my dark circles, which makes it something I’m definitely more likely to repurchase!
Maybelline Color Sensational Color Whisper in Pin Up Peach and Rose of Attraction: I love these lipsticks, which are really more tints than an actual lipstick. They provide great color while not being too bold- an easy everyday wear. Pin Up Peach I was surprised to like, because I bought it on accident, but I’ve been wearing both constantly since I’ve bought them! I’ll definitely be doing a full review soon.
Maybelline Volum’Express The Rocket Mascara: So many Maybelline products this month! This is probably one of the most talked about mascaras right now when it comes to drugstore products so of course I had to go out and try it because finding the perfect mascara is one of my current hunts. This mascara comes dangerously close. It wears all day long without smudging and gives fantastic volume. My only issue is that it is ridiculously difficult to get off my lashes at night. But I still wear it every day that I wear makeup. Highly highly recommend either way.
